Clinical Feasibility of Long-TE DWI in Differentiating Uterine Leiomyoma from Leiomyosarcoma
Ayako Tamura MD et al

DATE: Sunday, November 27 2011
TIME: 01:00 PM – 01:30 PM
LOCATION: Lakeside Learning Center
●PURPOSE
Preoperative diagnosis of leiomyosarcomas on the MRI is still challenging even using some reported criteria suggesting leiomyosarcoma, because uterine leiomyoma sometimes mimics leiomyosarcoma due to its histological variations or various degrees of degeneration. The purpose of this study is to see the clinical usefulness of diffusion-weighted imaging with long TE (TE=200msec) to differentiate between leiomyomas and leiomyosarcomas.

Preoperative Staging of Colorectal Cancer with Whole Abdominal Fusion Imaging between Diffusion-weighted Imaging and 3D Fat-suppressed Contrast-enhanced T1-weighted Imaging (FDWI) at 3 T and 1.5 T
Hiroyuki Horikoshi MD et al

LUNCHTIME CME:
EXHIBIT HOURS: Sun. 8:00 AM – 6:00 PM
Mon. – Thurs. 7:00 AM – 10:00 PM
Fri. 7:00 AM – 12:45 PM
LOCATION: Lakeside Learning Center
●SUMMARY
This exhibit will provide a basic understanding of preoperative staging of colorectal cancers using the whole-abdominal fusion imaging between diffusion-weighted imaging and 3D fat suppressed contrast-enhanced T1-weighted imaging (FDWI) at 3T and 1.5T. The major teaching points of this exhibit are: 1. The whole-abdominal FDWI at 3T and 1.5T is a useful method for detection of colorectal cancers and liver metastases. 2. The FDWI is a novel technique for preoperative staging of colorectal cancers.
